Board and Governance
The Southern Inyo Healthcare District is the largest in California and one of the largest in the continental United States, with an area of 8,262 square miles. The total population of the District is approximately 7,500, with approximately 2,500 people residing in Lone Pine, the largest population center. The District is governed by a Board of Directors, elected by District voters to four year terms. The mandates of the board are administered by the hospital Administrator/CEO, a post currently filled by Lee Barron, who built her career in administration and behavioral health in the Los Angeles and San Bernadino metropolitan areas.
