Radiology Our radiology department has recently undergone major upgrades, including the installation of a P.A.C.S. (Picture Archiving and Communication System), which allows transfer of digital images from the radiology department to any other compatible computer on the globe, and the addition of a single slice mobile CT scanner, which has been a major boon to patients with potential head injuries who no longer need to be transferred to Bishop, Ridgecrest, or Loma Linda for further evaluation. Plans for further upgrades include echocardiogram capabilities and a modular building with a CT scanner. Hours: The department is open from 7:30-4:30PM Monday-Thursday and 7:30-4 PM on Friday. We are closed from 12-1 for lunch. Technologists are also on call 24/7 to assist in evaluation of trauma cases. Our current services include: Routine Radiology (X-Ray):
We offer diagnostic imaging from head to toe for fractures, dislocations, and other orthopedic problems, pain and arthritis, degeneration of discs, COPD and other breathing problems and stomach and abdominal pain. We work with all patients, from newborns to the elderly. CT Scans Exams are available with or without contrast, and generally take about five minutes to half an hour to complete. Exams with contrast can take up to two days to finish, depending on the type of exam. US - Ultrasound Ultrasound imaging is a method of obtaining images from inside the human body through the use of high-frequency sound waves. The reflected sound wave echoes are recorded and displayed as a real-time visual image. No ionizing radiation (x-ray) is involved. Obstetric ultrasound refers to the specialized use of sound waves to visualize and thus determine the condition of a pregnant woman and her embryo or fetus. Ultrasound is a useful way of examining many of the body's internal organs, including but not limited to the heart, liver, gallbladder, spleen, pancreas, kidneys. In addition we can also image the veins of the lower extremities, thyroid, aorta, breast, and scrotum. Because ultrasound images are captured in real time, they can show movement of internal tissues and organs and enable physicians to see blood flow and heart valve functions, as well as cysts, stones in the gallbladder or kidneys, plaques in the arteries, clots in the veins, and fluid in the abdomen. Other For mammography, MRIs, and nuclear medicine, we provide referrals to accredited facilities.
